Should be anybodys favourite. Like the common wax plant Hoya carnosa it's a faithful and hardy plant. Tolerates occasional temperature drops down to 1-2°C (33-36°F). Tolerates some drought but should not be allowed to wilt as that will kill just about any plant. Easily cultivated and a quite fast grower too. Just perfect.

The species comes in many varieties; Chimera, Fresno Beauty and Red Buttons just to mention a few. All with fragrant flowers in different shades of pink and red or even grey and almost black.

The leaves are approx. 4" long and and 1,5" wide, dark green in color and with flecks in various amounts.

Blooms during the warmer part of the year with large umbels. The flowers look a bit like Hoya carnosa and are also about the same size.

Does best on trellis but can also be grown in hanging baskets. Keep in a light position but be careful with the mid day sun that might burn the leaves.
