Hoya kuhlii is quite tolerant. I've forgotten to water it a few times and it has been standing in a cold kitchen window. So, even if it comes from a warm place and looks tender it can handle more than one would expect.
I concider Hoya kuhlii to be a small leaved species. The leaves are quite cute, dark green with dimples around the mid nerve. It is a neat growing so I don't think it's a problem to fit it in just about anywhere.
